Lynda Marie Keen designs and fabricates handcrafted sterling silver and gemstone jewelry. I found my creative outlet in working with metals after studying metal-smithing. Gemstones and classic jewelry always held a fascination for me. Much of my work has been described as a combination of art deco and the arts-and-crafts movement.
For the special designer pieces, the inherent qualities of the gem, the balance of the jewel and the functionality of the piece are carefully considered in design and crafting. Beauty of our earth and its gifts are the inspiration for the art that adorns the wearer. “In fabricating each jewel, I feel closer to our amazing living and changing earth which holds the mysteries of nature.” Sterling silver, reticulated silver, argentium sterling silver, genuine natural gemstones, pearls, and crystal are used in my works of art.
After six years and numerous art shows, my silver work has taken on a distinctive character. Awards include Award of Merit – Creative Arts Festival, Barberton and Award of Merit – Lake Eola Fiesta in the Park, Orlando. The judges choice for the purchase award collection at the Flamingo Follies was Lynda Marie’s Sterling Silver Jellyfish!
Lynda Marie lives in St. Augustine beach. She is a retired teacher from Ohio and Florida. It is a delight for her to continue her journey in the world of fine art through creating and crafting works of art which will bring the owner enjoyment for decades.
